For All Broadcasters

Q1.After broadcasting on WCBN, do I retain the full rights to distribute the same content on my own platforms?

Yes. All content remains the property of the broadcaster, who retains full rights to distribute it on any platform at their discretion. WCBN's role is to broadcast and distribute your content across the Network — not to acquire ownership of it.

Q2.Who is responsible for licensing and permissions on the content I broadcast?

All licensing, copyright clearances, music rights, sync licenses, and any other permissions required for your content are the sole responsibility of the Channel Partner or Time Slot Broadcaster. WCBN does not obtain, verify, or hold rights on your behalf.

By submitting content to WCBN, you confirm that you own, or have secured, all necessary licenses and permissions to broadcast that content across the platforms where WCBN distributes. This includes — but is not limited to — music, video clips, photographs, third-party footage, guest appearances, and any other copyrighted material included in your program.

Any disputes, claims, takedown notices, or legal action arising from licensing or permission issues remain entirely with the broadcaster. WCBN reserves the right to remove any content that becomes subject to a credible rights complaint while the issue is resolved by the broadcaster.

If you have questions about whether your content meets these requirements, please contact us before submitting.

Q3.Can I use previously produced content on WCBN? Are there content standards I need to meet?

Yes, previously produced content is permitted, provided it complies with WCBN's Code of Conduct and Master Terms of Use. In particular, content must not include:

  • Negative commentary about other programs or clergy;
  • Sarcasm or disparaging remarks toward any nationality, people group, or belief system;
  • Material that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise inconsistent with WCBN's faith-based standards.

Full content standards are set out in the WCBN Master Terms of Use and Code of Conduct.

Q4.Who is WCBN's audience?

Current analytics show our primary audience is Christian adults across 40+ countries, with approximately 75% of viewership based in the United States. As the Network expands, broader demographic growth is expected.

Our mission — C.A.R.E. (Concerned About Reaching Everyone) — reflects our commitment to reaching both the reached and the unreached. Broadcasters are welcome to air any type of content they choose, provided it complies with the WCBN Code of Conduct and Master Terms of Use. This includes preaching, teaching, evangelism, podcasts, dance, music, drama, film, documentary, lifestyle, sports, and other wholesome, values-based programming.

For program-specific insights, we recommend at least 30 days of consistent broadcasting to accurately assess your program's audience and engagement.

Q5.Can I access viewership data for my program?

Yes. WCBN provides monthly analytics reports for your program, covering viewership trends, reach, and engagement across the platforms where your content is distributed.

Q6.How does WCBN promote eligible channels?

WCBN provides marketing and promotional support to eligible channels through the following at no additional cost:

  • A complimentary 15–30 second mid-program advertisement highlighting your materials, upcoming events, donation information, and contact details. Donations go directly to you — WCBN does not collect funds on behalf of eligible channels.
  • These ads also run at least twice weekly between other programs, and on WCBN's own website and social media channels.
  • Promotion of your digital flyer on the WCBN website and social media channels (eligible channel supplies the flyer, or WCBN can design one for a nominal fee).

We strongly encourage every eligible channel to maintain at least a one-page website and offer merchandise, resources, or donation options so viewers can connect and support you directly.

Q7.Are recording services included?

No. Broadcasters are responsible for producing or supplying their own content. Studio recording is available as a paid add-on service — please inquire for current rates and availability.

Q8.What are the technical specs for content delivery?

Quick specs: MP4 container, H.264 (AVC) video codec, AAC audio codec, 1080p or lower (no 4K), maximum file size 4 GB per file.

Recommended export settings:

  • Video: H.264, 1280×720, 29.97 fps (NTSC), VBR ~5 Mbps
  • Audio: AAC, Stereo, 48 kHz, 192 kbps
  • Multiplexing: MP4, Standard stream compatibility

Full per-platform settings for Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro are provided during onboarding.

Q9.How long does onboarding take, and when does my content need to be delivered?

Onboarding typically takes about 2 weeks from signed agreement to your first air date, depending on content review, scheduling, and the distribution lane(s) you select.

Content delivery deadline: All program content must be received by WCBN at least one (1) week before your intended air date. This applies to your first broadcast and to every recurring episode. Late delivery may result in your slot being filled with alternate programming for that airing.

Q10.Is there a revenue-share opportunity on advertising?

Revenue share is available only to Channel Partners with a signed Channel Partner Agreement. Time Slot broadcasters are not eligible; they may, however, upgrade to a Channel Partner lane at any time to qualify.

For Channel Partners, the revenue-share structure is:

  • Channel-Sourced Advertising (advertising you bring to WCBN): 80% to the Channel Partner, 20% retained by WCBN.
  • WCBN-Sourced Advertising (advertising WCBN sources): 80% retained by WCBN, 20% to the Channel Partner.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, WCBN does not distribute profits to private individuals or shareholders. Revenue-share payments are structured as contractual fees for content and advertising sourced by the Channel Partner, fully consistent with WCBN's tax-exempt purpose.

Q11.When will I actually start receiving ad revenue?

Important expectation to set up front: ad revenue payouts begin only after WCBN actually receives payment from advertisers tied to your channel. This does not happen on day one. Advertisers pay for audiences, and audiences take time to build.

For most Channel Partners, this is a matter of months, not weeks — your channel needs to be on air consistently, viewership has to grow to a point advertisers will pay to reach, and only then is revenue calculated and distributed.

Bottom line: treat WCBN as a broadcasting platform and audience-building investment first, and revenue share as the upside that comes once you've built that audience.

Q12.If I don't submit content, do I still have to pay?

Yes. Your fees are for the hosting, distribution, and channel/time slot reservation WCBN provides — not for the act of submitting content. Fees apply whether or not you deliver content for a given period.

WCBN's costs — CDN bandwidth, server capacity, distribution to Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, mobile and web, plus scheduling and operational support — continue regardless of whether new content is delivered. If you anticipate an extended pause, contact WCBN in advance — some accommodations may be available at WCBN's discretion in writing.

Q13.Can my program be sent to my own social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitch)?

Yes — as an optional add-on service available only to Channel Partners with an LOD (Live On Demand) lane. With this service, your live programming can be simulcast to your own Facebook, YouTube, and/or Twitch pages alongside its WCBN airing.

This is a paid add-on, quoted case-by-case. Eligibility: you must be an active Channel Partner with an LOD lane in good standing. VOD-only, AOD-only, and Time Slot broadcasters are not eligible for this service.

Q14.Can WCBN build me a white-label app or website?

Yes. WCBN offers a white-label web app service as a paid add-on for broadcasters who want a branded destination of their own — their logo, their colors, their domain — that links viewers directly to their WCBN content. Quoted case-by-case based on scope.

Q15.What happens to my content if the agreement is terminated?

If either party terminates the agreement, all broadcasts cease immediately unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing. Any previously aired or stored content is promptly removed from WCBN's servers and storage systems. Because you retain full rights to your content (see Q1), you may continue to distribute it on your own platforms after termination.

Time Slot Program — Specifics

Q16.How do broadcast time slots actually work?

WCBN offers programming across Live Streaming (scheduled), On-Demand (VOD/AOD), and internet radio. As a Time Slot broadcaster, you book a recurring weekly slot on the Network's scheduled programming. During onboarding you'll receive a scheduling form to indicate three preferred time slots, ranked by preference. A consistent weekly or biweekly slot is preferred for audience-building.

Q17.How long should my program be for a 30-minute time slot?

A 30-minute time slot contains 27 minutes and 30 seconds of broadcaster content. The remaining 2:30 is reserved for station identification, your complimentary mid-program advertisement, and network transitions.

Your total program length must be exactly 27:30, inclusive of your program intro, content, closing, and program advertisement. Longer slots scale the same way: a 60-minute slot is 55 minutes of content, a 90-minute slot is 82:30, and so on.

Q18.Is there a path to expanded airtime or featured slots?

Yes — handled on an individual basis. WCBN also reserves the right to broadcast your content at additional times beyond your regular slot, at no additional cost to you. As a Founder's Rate broadcaster, management is preparing a special package designed to maximize your visibility across multiple platforms at a preferential rate.

Channel Partner Program — Specifics

Q19.What's the difference between VOD, AOD, and LOD?
  • VOD (Video On Demand) — viewers stream your video content on demand across Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, mobile, and web.
  • AOD (Audio On Demand) — listeners stream your audio content on demand (internet radio, podcasts, sermons).
  • LOD (Live On Demand) — live events and broadcasts, available on demand after airing.

Each distribution lane is a separately priced service with its own setup and monthly fee. Channel Partners may elect one or more lanes and add additional lanes at any time.

Q20.What does the 12-month commitment mean, and what happens at renewal?

The Founder's Rate requires a 12-month contract commitment per distribution lane. You may pay either monthly in advance ($750/month) or annually in advance ($7,500/year, which includes the 2 months free Prepayment Bonus). Both paths carry the same 12-month commitment.

So long as you renew on time, the Founder's Rate continues for renewal terms. If you fail to renew within 30 days after the end of your term, the Founder's Rate is forfeited and reinstatement is at the then-current standard rate. WCBN provides 30 days' advance written notice of any Founder's Rate increase before a renewal term begins, and the rate cannot be increased during your active 12-month term.

Q21.Will my own channel be available on all platforms?

Yes — as a Channel Partner you receive your own 24/7 channel on the WCBN network, distributed via WCBN's Meta-CDN (72 data centers, 100,000+ streaming servers) across Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, mobile, and web. Distribution to your own social platforms is a separate add-on for LOD partners; a white-label app under your branding is also available as an add-on.
